Holder Confirmed by Senate: First African-American Attorney General
Eric S. Holder, President Obama's selection for Attorney General, was confirmed by the Senate on Monday. Mr. Holder became the Nation's first African-American to hold the office of Attorney General. The vote was 75-21. All the "no" votes came from Republicans. Kentucky's Senators, Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning, voted against Holder's confirmation. The roll call vote may be seen here.
